You sound like the right guy to ask:

When I did mine, my magnet also pulled up a lower sleeve along with the spring, piston, and sleeve at the top. The bottom one has a slot milled into it, and two different sized holes oriented at 90 deg to the slot. I pulled another one also to see how they went back in, and it looked like the slot should be to the rear, and they went back together smoothly like that.

However, these two valves are still not delivering. Is there some kind of pin that dropped out when the bottom sleeve got pulled? Do I need to replace the pump?
