I suppose that it adjust the amount of vacuum supplied to the transmission, does the adjusting screw increase the vacuum when turned clockwise???

The adjusting screw on the bottom of the transducer shifts the output point at idle, as best as I can determine.

Clockwise will reduce vacuum and firm the shifts. It doesn't have a lot of range. I've got these fully clockwise and the shift quality is acceptable, but not what I'd call "firm".
