I know that there was a poll done for what brands of oil people here at mercedesshop use. Mobil and Castrol were the top 2. What I was curious about is for us diesel owners what are people using. To avoid an opinon war, I figured the best way would be to just list what brand you use, not why. For diesels the 4 brands I seem to keep seeing are Mobil Delvac, Shell Rotella (I'm using this now), Chevron Deleo 400, and Castrol GTX.
Again, I don't want to start a flaming war. As long as people just list the brand and not opinon, there shouldn't be any arguments, I hope. If I remember correctly Scott Longston uses not Mobil Delvac, but Mobil 1. Of course he can correct me if I am wrong on this.

Chevron Delo 400 in the 300D, Castrol 20-50W in the E320 and CRV (non-synthetic). Everything changed between 3 and 4k miles.

Shell Rotella-T w/ OEM filter every 3K.

Since I buy it by the case at BJ's, it goes in the Subaru too.

Mobil Delvac-1 5w-40 full synthetic in both the '87
300TDT and '98 E300D. Sticking to the recommended
5K mile service interval on the '87, haven't completely
decided what to do about the FSS equipped '98.

Why so much Rotella, is this an east coast/mid west thing or am I missing something?

MLDUDE... For me, I buy Rotella because it is available at Walmart. If you go to Autozone or Advance Auto, the only C rated oil is some offbrand.

And I live in St. louis.
