Yes. Doesnt matter how it was brought in. Any post 80/81 NA 617 has them. You'll get a little more kick out of it and a MUCH quieter engine.
What they dont have is the vacuum controlled EGR valve. The EGR on mine is just a pipe venting from the exhaust manifold back into the air cleaner [edit] I wonder if the EGR makes for a easier startup in the winter? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaust_gas_recirculation

I'll apologize for the ignorance in advanced, but where exactly is the egr valve on my 85 300d turbo. Am I correct in thinking it attaches to the top of the turbo with 2 allen bolts and has a metal-like flexible hose going to the exhaust manifold? Does it have 1 vacuum line leading to something on the drivers side fender. To eliminate it which hose would I plug and what would I do with the connector it came from?

I think 81 was the switchover year. pre 81 US and Euro seem to be same engine, after we get turbo in US and EGR in Europe. Just what I have seen. Maybe some other euro owners can speak up.
