2.88 diff electric connection?

The 2.88 '85 diff I'm putting in has an electric connection on it
that my '84 doesn't have. What's that go to in the 85?
Just curious.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, that is an ABS Sensor. Snip off the wire and maybe put some RTV on the wire end
To keep water from migrating down it. Probably won`t happen, but you never know.

OK, thanks Charlie.
I'll seal that up.

I'm guessing the diff was from an SD with ABS?

John,
Pulled the diff w/axles from an 85 300SD a couple of years ago.
So, yes, it must have had the ABS system.
Been sitting in the garage all this time just waiting........

Finally got off my rear end to do the job due to my leaky CV boot.
2.88 diff & matching speedo, all CV boots changed, both flex discs,
center bearing & mount, subframe & trailing arm bushings, brake hoses,
3 nub spring pads.
Should drive like new, huh?

Jeff

PS. the Astoria boot gun works like a charm!
Thanks for all your tips on using it.
