Diesel Purge:Any homemade substitute?
All I read about Diesel Purge seems to be really Great. Running it straight into the injectors with a plastic bottle.Recently read where someone was making a homebrew type Diesel Purge, but didn't get the details. Has anyone made their own and had sucess with it?
Thanks again for all the comments and help!

My substitute for cleaning the injectors is to take them out and have them professionally checked for pressure and pattern. There is NO substitute for that.

That's a fact. I have a set of used injectors professionally cleaned and balanced by TomJ; they work very very well. Smooth and responsive. And running B100 will keep them that way.

Yeah if I was having obvious problems I would probably do that. But I am doing it more or less for preventive maintenance. My cars seem to be running great.
Thanks,WNCMAN

So did mine. I took mine out and found 5 out of 6 were good. 1 had poor spray pattern and low pop off pressure. After getting it professionally tested and cleaned ($70), I found it was even better and a little more power accelerating. I did it at 100K

when I change my fuel filters I fill the big spin on filter with some B100. I would like to get some used injectors and have them rebuilt as mine are probably OG

I don't see the point. All it does is cycle B100 thru for a few minutes. If you are going to use B100 like DP, I suggest you make a small "tank" like they do with DP. The wife drives 750 miles a week. I'll soon have the mileage for a check when I reach 200K

I get the initial cleaning part of the process. What I don't understand is why you'd return the dirty cleaner back into the bottle to be recycled until it was empty(i.e. return line). If I DP'd again which I probably won't, I wouldn't add a return line. Just send it back to the tank where it would have a chance of being filtered.

If you let the DP dilute into your tank, most of the advantages to running it are lost. It'd be pointless. Do it once and you'll see how much fuel is returned, unused into the temp. tank.

2 cans diesel purge
I have read that you should always use 2 cans DP mainly because the first is diluted with the contents of the filter. The second can does most of the cleaning. I run 100% biodiesel in the summer. The bio will keep your system clean but you need to do the DP first to initially clean your system.
