Appreciate all the comments.
Larry, it's the 84SD with the R4 and I can put 3 cans of 134a in and it will leak out within an hour. I can watch it (I couldn't see it before, but have been able to hear it.....this time I saw it) Pretty significant leak. I saw the rebuild described on this page: http://trotliner.tripod.com/ac.html and thought that this may be cheaper than the alternative. Anyways...I was going to bid on a reman R4, but thought I would ask here first.

yep, I used the dye and the special light and watched the stuff spray out through the clutch....
