When you tried to start it, did it fire at all? These engines will run with the IP timing way off but maybe not 24 degrees off?

no fire nothing... ive been told 5* will make it not start.. LOL.. so ill be safe and pull it and reset it to 24* and try again... need to get it out of the shop.. LOL..

Not so, a good buddy of mine had a 240D that had been off something like 16 degrees for years. I was hard starting and we did everything we could think of and finely checked the timing, DOH, it was a tooth off. Other than hard starting it ran great. Having the timing right on is a good thing, tho
