I agree, so what's the best way to fix this? Implementing protectionist trade policies will not increase out influence with them. The rest of they world will continue to do business with them anyway, it will be like cuba (times about 100,000). How much did our 50 year boycott of cuba help their people?

Regarding unsafe toys, their customers (mattel, etc.) will have much more influence than the U.S. government because they can actually do something substantive.

Fuel is about the cheapest thing I buy. I think fuel went up about a dime, its $3.06 now, but I forget what I was paying before, high $2.XX probably.

Diesel usualy goes up this time of year, I have been paying aobut $3 a gallon for awhile now, not much has changed.

Good points again. The corp influence may work with big companies like Mattel but most dangerous chinese toys make it here without any help from Mattel, etc.
Lets go back to talking about diesel prices before we turn this thread into an OD one.

Diesel here was $2.73 then for some reason, it went up to $2.87 - still not a bad price.

Craig, hope I don`t get as old as you, you must be getting up there.
Just find an age you like and stick with it.

the wife an I did some running around today, from Soquel to scotts Valley
over to Felton, down to Santa Cruz and home. so I wrote down the fuel
prices.

---------regular------plus-------super------Diesel------Bio Diesel

USA------$2.91-------$3.01------$3.11------$----------$3.37

Spirit------2.91--------3.09-------3.19--------3.37
(Talaban)

Union 76---2.97--------3.09-------3.19--------3.17

Chevron---3.07--------3.19--------3.31--------3.23

Quick
Stop------2.91---------3.01-------3.11---------3.11

Rotton Robbie on 9-15---------------------------3.02
they might be a couple cents more.

most of the gas is close in price, but a big swing on the Diesel side. want me to use Bio?
lower the price. that Bio station is B99. a little more than a year ago they went 100%
Bio Diesel. price was 3.15, jumped 3.21 then to 3.29. get me hooked then raise the price.
then jumped to $3.35 and sat there for quite a while. now 3.37.
of course the Talaban station on the other corner stays right with this guy.

I'm not really that old, but I do have pretty high mileage.

I havn't paid more than 0.99 for more than a year for Diesel...99 a litre that is whatever it converts to in US measurements. Gasoline has ALWAYS been 10c or more than diesel here.. except for ONE DAY when the gas first hit $1.15/l and diesel was 1.37....

right now gas prices here are 1.12l gas and .96l to .98l

That works out to about $3.75 per US gallon. Not all that much higher than we're getting to here in GR, Michigan!! Today I filled up with NINETEEN gallons at $3.19. Cost of fillup: $60.02! I barely had 2 gallons left in the tank....it was stressful since my gauge doesn't work....

I'd use gas/veg oil mix from sams club....but I am too worried that it'd hurt my engine. That'd cost about $3.03 a gallon or so.

My last tank was mostly B20, and I got 22.8mpg....this time its all diesel, hopefully with better mpgs.....

Likewise.
I'm "old" too but I'm not ready to sleep yet. I actually have a hour more because of time zones.

That's a sizable jump. Did it happen overnight?
