What's up with Diesel prices?

Prices have gone up 30 cents to $2.93 since last week at the stations I go to in NJ!

Prices in NY are back over 3 bucks a gallon and I mean like $3.15~3.25!

Meanwhile GAS is down to $2.43 in NJ and $2.82 in NY

I mean what gives here? I am now driving the BMW more and parking the Benz

Gonna start making bioD if the prices get any higher.

Diesel is used for a lot of stuff other than just cars...Demand in China is pushing prices up also, not to mention heating oil, etc.

And did you notice crude hitting $80/barrel this week? Raw ingredients are getting pretty expensive. As noted above, we'll also soon see the rollover to home heating oil production, which tends to reduce diesel production.

Hey, it's still cheap compared to the rest of the civilized world.

Cheers, John

I understand all this, but 30 cents in a week! I know that it takes awhile before the higher priced crude hits our pumps. Looks like another case of price gouging to me.

No one would be THAT dishonest!!

Why, if that were true, the government (meaning any counrty) would step in and correct the problem immediately!

About $3.00 here in Vegas

I can understand supply and demand, rising crude etc. What I can't understand is why Diesel is more expensive than regular unleaded gas, when it cost more to make gasoline than it does to make diesel??
