Si, claro!
The 240D is my only car in Mexico. Drive it everyday at least 30 miles. New oil cooler lines and shocks next week, just to stay ahead on the PM.
I always laugh when a discussion gets going on bad roads and crazy drivers. If you're in the US, you don't even know............... Buena suerte!

There is seldom a day that I am not behind the wheel of either a 1981 or 1985 300D.

I drive the 84 euro 300TD turbo everyday, but I take the train to work. So its just a short hop to the train station. I usually put about 100 miles on it over the weekend hauling my kayak around to fish.
I'll be putting ~700 miles on it tomorrow, picking up a new kayak and selling my old one to another forum member. |

You can sort of count me. The car in my signature will be my daily driver once it's road-worthy. Currently I borrow the wife's Kia if I need to drive. Kia seats hurt my butt. Ouch.
Lower control arm bushings are on the agenda for tomorrow. Once that's out of the way an alignment, adjusting the new neutral safety switch, and replacement of the camshaft with an updated version, sans flat lobes, are on the list. Then I'll be driving it around with only a driver seat installed, and no radio, but I'll be driving it.

My '79 240 gets driven 7 days a week, 365 days a year (virtually). Probably 350 days. Whatever. Also, most days I drive it 3 or 4 times. Just keeps running, rust and all.

Runs about 200 miles a week.
My wife drives our 83 300D Turbo every day to run errands and get the kids to practice, etc. It saves miles on our 12 passenger van. It runs on veggie oil, so that saves money too. Great car.

About 200 to 300 miles per week.
One of my goals in life is to to outlive this car.

I just reread the title of this tread; "How many old diesel daily drivers here?"
How old do I have to be to respond to this question? I just turned 49, does that count or do I have to wait another year? My car is only 25, pretty young compared to me. |
