This is an additional effort to control the public and their money, and therefore its behavior, all in the name of the biggest hoax ever -- Global Warming, or as it is being referred to now as Global Climate change. Ha, What a crock! Not falling for it, in fact, i blow smoke in the faces of hybrids! (BTW, How can i tune the car to get MORE smoke???!)

To the midwest and east coasters like me -- Remember what the left coast does eventually gets here. So their troublemaking must be pushed back while we have a chance.

Sorry to offend the non-politicians of the west coast. Not directed to you.

I believe global warming is real. I just believe current emission laws are counter productive in addressing it.

The only real way to deal with pollution and global warming and other eco problems is fewer people, however this solution is not well received.

This is the message I sent

Senator Delvin, Rep Hankins, and Rep Haler.

This bill is unfair and in some ways is counter productive. It is biased against diesel vehicles because diesels must have a bigger displacement to deliver the same power as a gasoline engine. A diesel will still deliver better mileage with a bigger engine. It is also unfair to the poor as they cannot afford to buy newer fuel efficient vehicles and usually get stuck with older vehicles with bigger engines.

This bill is unfair to me in several ways. I have a classic collectors car that I must keep tabbed to comply with local ordinances. It is only driven about once a year less than 30 miles and would cost me an additional $400 each year. I also have a California emissions vehicle which gets about 10% less mileage and emits 10% more CO2 than a federal emissions model.

Mercedes 300SD Federal emissions
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/2008car1tablef.jsp?column=1&id=338

Mercedes 300SD California emissions
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/2008car1tablef.jsp?column=1&id=339

Although it is supposed to be better for the environment I would be penalized. It is also a diesel and do to the larger displacement engine it would cost me an additional $225 a year.

If the desire is to combat global warming by taxing the public then it should be done by a fuel tax. That way the people that burn the most fuel and contribute to global warming the most are the ones that are taxed. It also discourages people from burning fuel.

Thank you for your time,

Sincerely

Conn Clark

Too bad it isn't real, at least how the fearmongers want you to believe it is. The cause is natural, not man-made. We can have 0 CO2 emiossions throughout the world and it will not change a thing.

Interesting, some form of this type of tax structure will eventually be put in place everywhere. If you want people to behave in a certain way, you design incentives and disincentives into tax laws to encourage the results you want. There's nothing new about this, but I doubt an extra $1000 in tax is going to change many peoples behavior. If you want Bubba to get rid of his silly $40K truck, you are going to have to cost him significantly more cash. Most folks will just drive what they want and pay the tax, but it is an interesting gesture.

Well, I used to live in the Northwest, but not all of the Northwest is as bad as Seattle! Reasons why the Northwest, especially Seattle can really suck?

1. I got so tired of listening to the most stupid ignorant libocrites consuming whatever they want, putting up with their f**k you I'm getting mine attitude, noses so high in the air they can smell their own mouthwash!

2. The pretend to be hippies who made a big fuss over "hempfest" ( a mass market carnival of sell sell sell items while befriending the cause) who would not even acknowledge you when you meet them in public because they are now with their "new" friends made me want to puke! Their "new" friends are the anti drug crowd and you are with them because they have money. You only pretend to be my friend while I have something you want! Typical and all to common!

3. It's easy to scream big brother attack when the city tries to close several bars and nightclubs because the real reason is those same people who constantly drink to distraction are drunken lushes who are burglarising homes and cars in the middle of the night while *****t*ing and p*ss*ng on the neighbors lawns because they don't give a f**k about you or anyone else but them!

4. The seattle cops have laws to protect them so they can do whatever they want, including drag you out behind a dumpster or into an alley and smack you around if they don't like you and if you try to sue for damages for being treated this way, your going in front of a judge who will never rule in your favour and then the cops can sue YOU for defamation of character and take everything you own! (It was interesting when a city council meeting had a pathetically few citizens who brought up the fact that "what are we supposed to do when the people we must have protection from are the ones we have to file a complaint with?) Answers............Anyone at city hall????? Hello?............. No one home.

5. The Citizens will never develope the guts to stand up for themselves, it's much easier to be a liberal with a "stop global warming" bumpersticker on the back of the $60,000 Range Rover that gets 9 MPG you drive to work 90 miles round trip a day while you live in Bellevue and claim guns cause violence. The second amendment will be abolished over my dead body! You can have my guns, BULLITS FIRST!

6. I have never met so many greedy people who will befriend you while stabbing you in the back to get whatever they want at your expense! After 20 years, I can count my friends on one hand and not use my thumb or pinky that I will try to convince them to move from there. (Steve, $6800 per year in property taxes to live with the snobs is ridiculous, now work on Karen!) Your house is not that big and your yard is the size of a post card! (Lance, don't worry, you will probably become successful at getting one of your tenants to sleep with you in order to avoid being thrown out in the street and they will take your $500 dollars you give to relieve your conscience. It helps to have friends at city hall! You will never get prosecuted that way!)

7. Go the http://www.thestranger.com and join or just read the local forums section, especially the I Anonymous section. No one here will be real with you to your face, they just talk behind your back and be sweet as pie the next day when they see you!

8. Seattle is the only city to have a poster map of the history of suicides since 1949 with reasons given for blowing your head off by location, address, time of year, type of suicide with pictures, weather conditions and assets you leave behind worth taking. (Seattle has the highest rate of suicide in the Nation! The people are taxed to death, literally or should I say liberally? And most who commit suicide are stuck here because it's to expensive to live! (you have to subsidise the rich neighbors like Paul Allen who get tax breaks for putting up a baseball stadium for a team that never wins the playoffs at taxpayers expense [ yes no one read the fine print! Paul Allen, co founder of microsoft, gets to keep all the profits for himself!] because it's the fashionable thing to do!) They can't sell and get out with any assets intact and it's cramped and crowded with 10 ft wide houses that are 3 stories tall on a 14 strip of land with off street parking that you pay $450,000 or more for and you and your neighbors are piled on top of each other.

I honestly didn't know what a good kind neighbor was until I moved to Arizona and I will NEVER go back! Bellingham is nice and quiet. Port Townsend is beautiful and I would consider living there if I never had to see Seattle again!

P.S. When my ID was stolen, the police told me "What do you expect us to do about it? You invited the thief into your home!" Read my website at the link at the bottom of this page about Easy Credit Repair! The part about how the police couldn't locate the crooks and I did and found they burned their rental house to the ground to get away without being caught is true!

If you life seems to be a bowl of lemons, it's because you live in the pits! I can give you the address! The Libocrite politicians never go after the rich for their in state tax increases, they will only go after you, because you are the weaker of 2 party's. The bill proposed is only one of many coming out of the left coast.

I find it truly amazing that there are still folks around that believe Global Warming is a hoax, even our illustrious leader, GWB, has admitted there is global warming.
