Ha! Lawyers, give me a break. Since I am now banned they are officially using my copyrighted images with out permission, maybe I should give my lawyer a call...

So what the hell is all this banning of the active members about? That's kind of lame isn't it?

FI and I are working on a new forum for super turbo diesels and are looking for some article writers/contributers (not in the $$$ sense). We are also looking for anyone who has interest moderating and contributing the "other makes" section as well. PM for info on the new site info. We will have a general unveiling and I will personally chip in for some google marketing. It will not only cover engine/drive train but suspension and handling as well.

This new forum will not even attempt to compete with this or other forums like this, infact I will give free advertising the two big ones with their consent.

Since Henry and BHD apparently keep an eye on this thread, I am sorry you have decided to act the way you have. I did nothing to deserve any of this and I am sorry that things have turned out the way they have.

c'est la vie.

Injection pump adjustment

I have a rebuilt `77 617.912 that have been converted to turbo. But the injection pump have not been changed so the power is not mutch over normal. I `ve been told to turn the screw "start qantity cutout" anti clockwise, have turned this two turns out but no real effect yet. Is this adjustment the right one ? PS. i dont have alda since the pump came off a non turbo engine.
Will be happy for ideas on this one
Thanks!

I wouldn't mess with the start quantity cutout... That is a setting that should probably be set on the bench and not messed with. I would be very wary of pushing this engine past stock at all, because some internal components are not built to turbo-engine specs. One example is the camshaft, not sure if the crankshaft is the same or not. One big difference is the lack of oil-squirters on the pistons. I'm not sure if the IP on the non-turbo engines is any different from the IP on the turbo engines, but I would look at the picture posted somewhere in this thread, and compare it to what the internals of your pump look like to find out for sure. You definitely DO NOT want to be making high EGTs in this engine, so make sure you have a pre-turbo pyrometer installed. Someone else who knows more about engine specifics chime in here please.

Also, a high-performance section here would be super cool! Best of luck on that!
