Let me say thank you sir for your input, as well as everyone else's. I had tried this method, but not to the level that you had suggested evidently. I had some time today to mess with the car, so I, as you say, primed the hell out of it, went to start it and it's back to it's tick-tockin' self! I had tried very hard to keep the shims in the same spot as well as tighten the nuts down to the exact same position they had come from. Seems it has worked, as I drove the car around and it drives like any other time.
Thank you all again, and I am glad I am starting to figure out this engine a little better.
