The purists may cringe, but I've had luck freeing up sticky tumblers with WD-40 and gentle key wiggling. Also, the original Mercedes key that came with the car is the valet key. It should work in the doors and ignition but not the trunk or the glove box. The two copy keys were from the master key and should turn everything.

Thanks! ill get it going eventually. May try that and see what happens. Ive also used WD-40 in locks before as well.

The one time the fiance test drove the car so far, she broke that valet key.
Instantly too, was amazing to me. The key was a little cracked and before I could get out "be careful", she broke the end off.

Update is the car passed inspection! repairs are no longer under such a time crunch, now I can take my time and work on stuff with some wiggle room.

Awesome! I'm glad you got it back on the road! Fantastic job on the rust repairs and documentation too! I know I super glued that valet key back together numerous times. I can pick up a new key surround when I get my 190 back. Let me know if you want one. Then dip it in epoxy!!

thanks!

took the key away, I might weld something to it actually. I like the VW symbol keys, would like to make a MB symbol key maybe.

cleaned up well-

rear suspension after being off for about 15min. Steep parking spot has neighbors asking me what the problem is. 3 times so far. Works fine when running, but SLS maintenance is on the horizon

Wall there. Funny setup, my side of the driveway have to pull in to get out, neighbors side has to back in to get out. No deviations unless you are kate moss thin. Hard even then.

Inside the garage the setup is opposite, otherwise no one gets out

You sound like a vw guy now. I'm not into making the car useless for daily driving

Hey, I'm still waiting for the nine-foot-long baby-eating serpent.
