I bet there are lots of coupe parts. So, can you comment on if the parts listed in your post are rebuildable? long lived? Will we need to start scrapping cars before long because of these silly parts?

I'm surprised they discontinued the VCV, I feel like that is a common leak point and replaced item. I'm sure they have their reasons.

I bet if you paid enough, the folks at MB in Germany would be able to make one for you. If they can make parts from blueprints for older pre 60s models, they can surely do the same thing for an 80s model car.

I also assume that you can get anything you need if you're willing to pay for it.

Do they keep the blueprints, or sell them after they discontinue the part?

Door Striker Parts

Speaking of unobtanium, I have not been able to track down the rubber inserts which fit into the door strikers for my 300SD. I just got a quote on original new entire striker assemblies at $125 each Clones were $40 each.

Anybody have other thoughts on how to get just what I need and no more?

I can tell they're 124.128 / 602.962 / 722.418 parts from the EPC...
but the description has been eliminated...

Thanks!

Nevermind

as per usual ,trying to do to much multi-tasking.

I was looking up the part #s on the EPC with my Chassis number already plugged in...
So of course it appeared all the parts were 124.128 related.
My Bad.

I think the forum has been thru this ....before. The rubber inserts are not a separate item; the whole door striker has to be replaced.

Which side do you need? Shoot me a PM. I'll get you one.

I thought the complete 123 monovalve was also dropped from production. Was that an misinformation report that I read? Insert repair kits were listed as available but not a complete valve assembly.

I'm not sure, I haven't bought one in a few years.

That seems to be correct.
The assembly has been out of stock for a very long time.

There are no plans in the immediate future to reproduce this part. Not enough demand and the manufacturing costs are prohibitive.

Kind regards, / Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
