Which wire is this hanging from my 300SD's transmission?

I'm just finishing up an engine swap and came across this white wire which extends from the harness going to the neutral safety switch. I removed the neutral safety switch entirely since I was having a difficult time unplugging it, and I removed the speedo wire. Is this the kickdown switch wire? I can't find the other half of the wire. Thanks
