Air Filter and Oil filter Preferences

I just received a hand me down 1983 300D turbo that was purchased brand new in 1983 by my Grandmother...now has 170,000.

It is in IMMACULATE shape..not a dent and beautiful silver..I am changing oil and air filter for the first time..and wonder what eveyones preference is on the filters..I have always been a NAPA guy so I bought the top of the line Napa Brand Gold filter for both...

Also any advise on oil--I live in N. Georgia so it does not get cold for long..
