Billybob,
Wow! Thanks for the detailed description. From the "oris" diagram, it looks like one needs to remove the factory "nut plates" that are normally behind the sheet metal, and replace them with the part 30, 23 & 47 sandwich? is that right? Tripling the thickness of the bearing surfaces around the body would be a substantial improvement -- aside from the tube section carrying the load! How does the connection between arm #36 and the main beam #23 work? Is it bolted through the beam? Quote:

Quote:
The connection between the arms #36 & 32 and the #23 main beam is #49 a single M14 bolt with a 19 mm hex head, this bolt passes through the main beam itself and through the end plate which is welded behind it, about 1/2" of steel total! The arms #36 & 32 are fitted with an internal insert welded into place which has a threaded center hole into which # 49 threads. The end of the long cross tube which makes up #23 is cut at an angle allowing access to the head of #49. |

That would mean one could swap in a clear lens and double the "back up lighting" (when needed) without overloading the wiring, sounds good, thanks.
