Water pump replacement time, check what else?

My water pump is dribbling from the bottom weep hole, so it's time to replace it. Aside from the new pump and gasket, what else should I check while I'm in that far?

-New thermostat
-Check belts and hoses for wear, cracking/bulging.
-Check fan clutch prior to disassembly to be sure it is functioning well and tight.
-Of course - Good coolant flush for the engine/block/radiator and proper MB coolant
-Good chance to clean excess oil and grime buildup and find those oil leaks

Sure I'm missing a few....

It may be worthwhile to remove the waterpump housing.

It is a bit tricky to remove with the balancer in place, but if there is any question as to the health of your cooling system, this is a critical spot.

X2, it can crack towards the bottom and/or wear. ALso replace all the bolts as they're old and brittle, and replace the short 3" hose from the thermostat housing to water pump housing. Unfortunately they only sell that as a 3' length but a lot of us have extra leftover so throw out a request on the parts forum (I have 2.5 feet but not with me at the time).

If you have the coolant system open, consider checking the aux water pump. Good time to replace if it is drawing too much juice or is noisy. You don't want that burning out your ACC.
