Could be worse, our neighbor had mice and rats eat the insulation off of the wiring harnesses of her Jag XJ6. It ruined the car, they had to trash it because the quote for replacing the wiring harnesses came to $14,000 and the car was not insured for that kind of damage. The car had been a gift from her brother -- she was not cash out of pocket on the deal. Still kinda sad, it was a nice car.

To answer the OP's original question, it depends to some extent on which car in the list had the nest. Insulation and sound padding, when ripped up by tiny teeth, will look just like dryer lint. It would be worth some time to check under the dash and seats to see if there is a "trail of destruction."

It's the 91 300D. I don't see any trail of destruction evidence....but sound padding and insulation does make sense.

I opened up the hood of a donated 1964 T-Bird a couple of years ago to find, not so much a mouse's nest, but what I could only describe as a high-rise multi-family housing development, built with a wide variety of yard and car interior debris!
And I don't know who was more surprised.... me, or the mouse staring up at me, both of us mouths agape!

I found a bee hive under the battery carrier of the 83 pickup here when replacing glow plugs...
