Charmalu,
Just use a sharp knife and gut the seal from INSIDE the car then it can be lifted out easily with the chrome moulding intact. ElRojo and I took out an SEC back Glass that way and it was EZPZ. Just make sure you cut all the way around the glass. pull the cut seal inside the car with you, then get outside and lift it out gently. helps to have two people to lift it out. that rear glass cost me 28.00 at the yard at Telfair and Tuxford in Sunland.

Thumbs up

Already too hot to go out for the full day here. I wish they would offer this in the dead of winter. I can always put on more clothes, when it is 100°F and high humidity it is just a death wish.

There's a very nice 240D with automatic transmission at the Oakland Ca pick n pull, looks as if it was well taken care of. There's also a 300SD that still has it's ALDA and injection pump. I pulled the turbo and air cleaner bracket

And it sounds easy, but when you are pushing that rubber "with a wedge" you will really be stressing that glass.
After reading the FSM on how to remove the glass, I couldn`t find the plastic Harbor Freight set I bought a while back. so run down to Kragans to see if they had some. It was like deer looking into the head lights. you want what?
So next door is OSH (orchard Supply Hardware) and they dont have anything either. they use to have everything until Sears bought them, and now I think K-mart owns them.

my next place was Home Depot, and on the way there, see a Matco tool truck in a parking lot. the guy had exactly what I wanted. now off to PNP.

From the inside at the top, i run the plastic wedge under the rubber to loosen it up. then try to flop the rubber over the pinch weld. I don`t see any way that can happen w/o stressing the glass. maybe I needed 2 of them.

RS899, I finally did what you mentioned, used my razor blade knife and sliced the rubber around the inside. then gently pushed from one side then the other at the top, and the window lifted right out.
Note: I did remove the "C" piller panels and remove the screw from each side for the electrical connection.

The glass was $18.47 and she also charged me for the trim, $9.99. she was going to charge for the rubber gasket, until I told her I cut the rubber to get it out. even then she had to eye ball it real close to make sure I wasn`t trying to stick it to her.

Since I removed the 5-spd from the 190E, I decided to grap the flywheel, and peddles. what a PITA job it is to get the peddles out. the electric seat was forward, and not much room to work standing on my head trying to see under the dash. I remove the trim panel, and there is this black round thing looking like a piece of culvert pipe with styrofoam in the end. what does it do? sure was in the way.

I get the peddles out, and there is a little shaft or peg on the clutch arm that something attaches to and is missing. any one know what would be fasened to it? so I left it, but the next one will be easier.

I didn`t get much today, just the window, FW, trans X mount, w123 door check, window switch, 2 inside chrome door pulls, and the cloth trim around the door openings.

Tomarrow I have to run up to Chico, a 5 hr drive from here. It`s 2 hrs or so, north of Sacramento. my wife is going on a cruise to Alaska with an elderly lady friend of hers for 10 days. so no Picky pull tomarrow .

I saw something unique and different today, a 54 Chevy 4 door in the yard. not in very good shape, missing the rear fenders, and had some of the mohair seats and head liner. was very rusty, like someone removed the paint, and then let it set outside.

A mob at Windsor (Northern California) Pick and Pull today. I got one of the last spaces in the parking lot and it was full byt the time I got out of the car. They have a running '67 or '68 Finner in their 'cars for sale' section and another in the take-apart section.

I'm seeing more and more 124s, all gassers. One unusual car was a '86 or '87 190D with a stick shift. I didn't check to see if it was the five-speed but I believe that was standard in that model. A '94 E430 and a '98 E-class were the newest Benzes in the lot.

I found an '87 300E with a blue interior and got the sunvisors as spares for my car. One of very few blue interior cars I've seen there. The seats and door panels looked to be in pretty good condition but the dash was badly cracked.

I ran into a gent in the Daytona LKQ yesterday that says he has a 190D 4 speed, which I never knew about. It was a grey market car.

Not much there, in Daytona. I got some cheap wheels and tires for my Jetta and a starter for the 380SL.

Thanks for the post Charlie. After using the link I found that PNP recently purchased a yard only 45 minutes away. Now I need to find some time this weekend.

went to the local pick n pull, asked about the sale. They looked at me like I was from mars. Turns out it is a pick a part, not pick n pull. To add insult to injury the 77 240 that i have been pulling parts off of was gone. Anyone have some pre chambers for a 77?

Is there a difference in the prechambers between 77 240D and a 85 300D?

The prechamber collar is the same part # in Fastlane for the 240 and 300D of those years. they don`t show a prechamber. give Phill a call.
