Help Please: Sunroof Motor Sync / Set Timing Assembly

Re: '86 300 SDL W126: Just put a new cable in but can't find the procedure for setting the motor timing assembly attached to the motor. I've seen a thread some time ago but after hours of searching I can't find it now.
Hopping some one can point me to the old link or just pass the tips/procedure back over here.
Thanks,
Rob
P.S. Please don't just reply "search sunroof" - etc...

Army - Thanks for the post

Not the same system I guess as the w126 but I sure appreciate your effort. I've trudged through tons threads covering everything but the dang "sync" process.

Thanks again!

If you have the time perhaps you could do a write up on this? I'm sure it will help me when I buy a W126!

Hey Army...You are correct about a complete DIY. I will try to put one together in Word and pass it over within the next couple of days. It sure gets old weeding through thread after thread for hours and hearing a lot of unrelated stuff like “Oh I’ve heard there is a thread for that, maybe, somewhere, just search”.

We really should also "organize" a couple of linked DIYs based on failure type, and that don't include a lot of rhetoric like my reply here...LOL Guilty as charged….

Thanks again for your efforts too!

whunter quite often does this sort of thing - and I understand vstech has been reorganising parts of the diesel forum.

I think in the end we run up against the limitations of vbulitin - the forum software. We need a kind of whunter sticky system that is different from the existing sticky system - then we could find more of what we want more quickly.

I end up using google a lot =>

{what I'm looking for} {forum user name => often whunter} site:peachparts.com

I guess I have about a 70% success rate with that...
