I was thinking the same thing about the ETR. Weird that it cycled with the blower off and never cycled again. Maybe that killed it....
I knew they were adjustable but I've never dug in there to it. I think I may have reached in there and groped it but I believe it's pretty inaccessible on a 116. Oh, well, another re (Or is it de?) engineering project ![]() ![]() I just used the WD40 because they had a can for sale in the store. Glad you reminded me of that!

Just an update in case anyone is following...
My ETR is working. It cycles when its on "lo Cool" and occasionally cycles on "hi Cool". I'm thinking it doesn't cycle as much on hi because it's taking in outside air so the evap doesn't run as cold. And that sucker is running COLD! I have a couple thousand miles since the last update and I just threw another can in there for a total of 2lbs. The pressures were 30/200 and didn't change much at all after I put the other can in there ![]() Ambient temp- hot Humidity- high Back on the road...

if another can didn't change your pressures, the accumulator is holding some charge, and you don't have enough airflow to boil it all off, your OT is too small or both. you may want to enlarge the OT and try again. too low a temp, and even with an accumulator, you can destroy the compressor by starving it of oil circulation.

Thanks John. Big help as always!
I just did about 200 miles and I think my blower motor is crapping out ![]() It cooled fine the whole way and it was in the high 80's today. I believe my ETR is working well because it cycled OK which bugged me at first but I guess it's just part of a CCOT system. I also looked at available OT's and I'm running the biggest available at .072 but I suppose I could drill one out a little and try that if I take a notion. I had no idea that running cold could lead to oil starvation ![]() I'm actually taking pressure readings from the compressor outlet and at the accumulator. Not sure if that was the greatest idea...

Another update...
I drove about 175 miles with the blower barely working. The clutch cycled off about every 10 minutes and then on a couple of minutes later. Good test for the belt tensioner I figured... It was just barely keeping up with the heat which was mid 80's in direct sunlight. The air coming out of the vents was just a trickle. Anyway, I checked the belt tension and all looked well so it looks like that part is sorted. I also changed the brushes in the blower motor so it's now working as it should. On a test drive of about 30 miles with the temp again in the mid 80's I didn't get any clutch cycling and the vent temps were upper 30's. I think the ETR cycles at 36 so that sounds about right. Supposed to get into the high 90's by the end of the week...
