From what I understand, after that the w123 swap will seem like Saturday morning cartoons.

I'd love to have him make my W108 engine bay look like that...then it will look as clean as the interior....so when I get the body and paint done it will sparkle.

Its really strange you guys mention the W108...

My father had one when I was younger, also a 280SE. Beautiful cars, lots of character. Notorious for rust though, right? I remember being able to see the road through the floor pan:

"Dad...? Why did Mirzaydeez make the car so you can see whats under you?"

We always joke that he planted the seed into me. Its a genealogical sickness.

Mines not all that bad...floors are good shape, some rust in the rockers, bottom of right fender and the left quarter. But like you said....these were built back in the days before they got any good at rust prevention.

I've got new parts to fix that except the front fender I'll fab a patch panel for that and mig weld it since the rust is confined to one area.

Remove the air filter, coolant tank and battery and they all look like that.

Removing the battery alone dramatically opens up the engine bay.

Got it running early this morning / late night.

Runs like 5hit. Needs a break-in and tuning. No oil leaks though.

I forgot how 'clunky' the 617 was... its been over a year now. Anyone wanna buy a wagon?

I'm planning a video just to show how daft I've been fixing stuff that ain't broken - not that I'm nervous of course!
