Has anyone ever tried rebuilding their Bosch alternator on their diesel? I just kinda want to do it just for fun and for some learning too. I know you can get the voltage regulator but I'm wondering what else needs to be done and where to get the parts if necessary.

I just replaced the voltage reg of the one that just went kaput but that did not fix it. So there must be something else inside thats keeping it from working.
