I advise you not to publish your own email address publicly. You would have been better off to send me your address via private message or to directly send me an email via the forum =>

Click on my user name and then choose one of the options to contact me.

You have now posted two similar but different email addresses which one is it?

You are beginning to get on my nerves a bit now - why can't you just post up the pictures like you did before? Perhaps you need to ask your neighbour for help again?

I've just looked through the photographs - as you say it isn't the part for the brake bands is it...

...I'm still not at all sure but it does look familiar but I need to check on my own 722.112 transmission. I'm thinking it is more like a part on the throttle linkage (part of the modulating pressure - but not the vacuum modulating side). I say again I'm really not sure about this as I've recently taken a 722.3 transmission to bits and I might be remembering parts from that instead of the 722.1

I will hopefully get the chance to look at my 722.112 transmission in the next few days for you - there's a whole world of other stuff going on where I live at the moment that is stopping the enjoyment of my hobby. Bear with me!

Your impression of the oil being too high could be due to the time when you check it. If you check the oil with the engine switched off you get a false high reading.

When you start the engine and let the transmission oil warm up properly that is when you should check the level. Have a look at your owner's manual there is a procedure for it there.

I'm pretty sure that what you are seeing at the dipstick is not due to the part you have found.

I'm sorry things are taking so long vidal - this weekend I'll dig out the 722.112 no matter what!

Army I think he's trying to say that his fluid level is low all the time (au dessous = below/under).

Vidal, vous dites que le niveau de huile est toujours moins que les spécifications de Mercedes, c'est ça?

Hey Zacharius I can follow your French a lot easier - it must be an English speakers' thing!

@vidal - when are you checking the transmission oil level? Are you checking it with the engine running?

No luck finding the part

Today I got time off for good behaviour and I went through all of the parts and the transmissions I have in the garage. I couldn't find a part that looks like your's vidal.

Sorry.

All I can say with certainty is that I don't know what it is.

I will send round some private messages (PMs) to some people here on this forum who I think know more than I do about it. Hopefully someone will be able to tell us what it is.
