What really worked WELL was the system the W-115 diesel used. All metal between the injectors and only the crappy rubber hose between the last one and the main line back to the tank. MB really dumbed it down for the 123!!!

Drove the 115 220D/8 for twenty years and never had leak one in the fuel system. Now thats durability.

National Auto Parts (NAPA) sells the real thing.

Where to buy fuel return hose
Diesel Injector return lines, where to buy? - PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum

The Thread with the part numbers
fuel return line replacement part - PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum

Viton Injector return Hose part numbers
VITON Return line number - PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum

From my notes:
Injector return hose plastic tube
any lawnmower/chainsaw repair shop should have hose that will work too.
I bought a 50' box of 1/8" tygon clear fuel hose and the stuff holds up for about 3 years.
cost me like 15.00
The brand I used is Oregon, it is a Tygon fuel hose.

That's good... When I needed it it wasn't available so I had to get it from the dealer. Luckily my dealer goofed and ordered me twice as much as was needed for my 240D so the parts guy gave me the excess and I had just enough for my 300D.

They don't clamps if you buy the correct hose.

i've tried the standard fuel hose 1/8" from local auto stores, and it doesnt work very well! and the walls are too thick to get it on tight,,,took me forever to to get it on, and it still leaked!! get the right stuff the first time around (someday i'll learn this too) and it will be easier to install and not leak- i just put on my new return hoses i got from pelican parts today and it was a cinch, slipped right on, but nice and snug.

Yes, it is a good idea to keep some extra on hand in your trunk as you can easly leak off enough Fuel that would cost more than the extra Hose when one the lines leak.
It is also good for use on other projects.

so true! it will work in a pinch for vacuum line too! my 240 snapped a vac line once and wouldnt shift out of 2nd gear..i pulled over, threw a bit of 1/8" hose i had with me on there and i was back on the road! hmm, now that i think about it, i dont think i ever went back and replaced that hose with actual vacuum line... i guess it worked pretty good then!

I am having an issue. The last return line(injector closest to the firewall) goes to where? Mine is leaking and I dont see where/what it connects to.

Anyone got pics?
