Here are the weights that I came up with in doing the initial research on the project
3515# for the 300D
- 3395# for the 380SL
- 3495# for the 450SL
- 3245# for the Corvette C5
I was surprised to find that they were all that close. I'm guessing the 380 SLD (or whatever I decide on as a badge) will come in around 3500#.
My Corvette gets 33MPG on the open road, so I'm hoping that the SL will get 30 or so under the same conditions considering the factors of weight (a negative), diesel power (a positive), transmission (a negative) and aerodynamics (close). We'll just have to see.
