2011 has been a good year for diesel related help here on Peach Parts.

To help celebrate I thought I'd run a little competition.

Nominate your favourite post of 2011 here.

It has to be a post not a thread

It has to be posted in 2011

It has to be on the diesel discussion because that it the ONLY forum that counts!

It could be some nugget of information that really pulled you out of the toilet.

It could be the best bit of advice you've ever read!

It could be the funniest thing...

It could be a good bit of sarcasm or wit...

...whatever...

We'll see how this goes eh? If there are enough nominations I'll run a poll and we can all vote for a winner. If the winner sends me their postal address I'll send them a bar of chocolate. Not very MB I know - but it has to fit in the post.

1)

Pay it forward thread (originated on DD)

2)

Sarcasm from tangofox007

3)

Computer comment from junqueyardjim

4)

Connerm's hydraulic tool

5)

jonbobshinigin helping out a fellow forum member (biopete)

I gotta tell you that I was pretty excited about the post I submitted stating I was able to get 6 glow plugs out of my 606 without breaking any.

I also liked the one where that guy MADE the hydraulic tool to remove stuck glow plugs from a 606.

I think it's a great idea, but like Tom said, where to start?

I have so many subscribed threads now, I can't remember what was said where.

How you guys come up with thread links to answer questions is beyond me. The volume of good info on this list has me behaving like a hoarder ("Oh, man, gotta save that one... hey, that was a good point...." etc.).

Unfortunately the only one or two I can specifically remember were from ForcedInduction, and I don't think repeating them will engender peace and goodwill toward all....

Yep funny eh?

Oh well good idea gone sour... whatever it will be difficult to execute. So I'm dumping the idea and leaving this thread like a rat on a sinking ship.

If anyone thinks they deserve the chocolate bar that was going begging send me a PM!

Hey Army,
Maybe it wasnt the idea that went sour !!! The thought of getting a chocolate bar that has been in the grubby hands of the postal service for who knows how long is enough to put any one off !!!

And not just the grubby hands of the postal service - there are enough pictures of my grubby hands on the forum to put anyone off!

I asked John (vstech) to close this thread but he seemed to think I should give it a bit longer.

I was wondering if a change of rules would promote more involvement.

For example - how about a competition to find the best thing on DD in 2011?

We could then just nominate what we wanted

Best picture
Best post
Best thread
Silliest comment
Biggest problem solved
Biggest problem not solved

I don't know what say you?

Well, the hex key for the choo-choo was in response to my inquiry about the right size hex for removing the check plug on rear axle . . .I was thinking in the 30s!!! LOL

But I liked all the responses when I inquired about the ad for the "computer chip" for all of our '80s-era diesels!!!! Some pretty good responses about that!!! ROFL

I would settle for just knowing how to "thing."

Maybe you could provide an example of that.

Err sorry about that I got myself all tied up in knots - I've corrected it above.
