Chris, glad you liked the post earlier. Kind of didnt know how it would be received since it may seem kind of dick-ish on my part. No harm intended.

Keep up the research. I think in your effort to learn how you can mod these things, you are confusing yourself. Or maybe I am totally wrong. These things are very simple. Start with a basic OM 617 or 603, swap it into your Jeep and then over time you will learn all its strengths and weaknesses and address them along the way. All this fuss before hand is silly. Just install the motor in your Jeep and be done with it. You will not be disappointed. These motors are awesome.
