Is this a fair trade?

I am looking to trade my 83 300td for a more "modern" car. I have the car posted in the for sale section here:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-cars-sale/332618-sale-trade-my-83-300td-your-300sd-sdl.html

Here is an excerpt form the ad:
190,000 miles
Great Driver. Take it from coast to coast now.
Previously owned by forum moderater
No frame rust, very little body rust.
Good A/C and heat
Cruise works

New or newer: Calipers, pads, front rotors, injectors, transmission fluid and filter, transmission mount, front flex disc, accumulators, tires, passenger window run, A/C compressor, turbo drain tube grommet,

Needs work: drivers rear window (needs regulator) rear wiper, drivers seat height adjust, sunroof drain pan, wood trim around climate control.

The car currently has a greasecar wvo system installed at 180,000 miles, with copilot and additional flat plate heat exchanger. Always run on quality waste oil from my trusted sources for the past 11,000 miles. I would like to keep the greasecar system for use in my future car.

I have an interested party with a 1987 300sdl. 290,000 miles. #16 head. With Maintenance records. Daily driver. Original vacuum pump. No structural rust. 2 quarter size surface rust spots on front fender. Nonoperational, non leaking sunroof. Non functioning cruise control. Non working r-134 AC. Driver seat height adjust inop. I have not seen this car, though I have a test drive scheduled in a few weeks.

I realize that there are so many variables and unknowns to consider. I am soliciting any opinions on this trade or about my vehicle in general. And please don't worry about offending me. Be as honest as you feel. I think I could use a dose of reality.

I personally don't like the SDL too much as I find the SD to be easier to work on, but that's just me. Both cars need work, you'd be out of height regulation anyway, but it's too early to tell... How about taking pics of the other car while you do the test drive?

Seeing my wife isn't happy with my recently purchased sdl, she has instructed me to photograph every inch before trading. She also has requested that I invent a machine capable of smellography to use to capture the essence of interior odour to be sure it is to her liking. humph.

Hmmm I can't imagine why an old SDL would smell any worse than a w123, especially a wagon. Was the PO a smoker? Or a chronic drive-thru diner (scraps of old food moldering under the seats)?

A carpet shampoo and leather treatment later, possibly your SO will feel more positive about it?

LOL

Personally without seeing pictures I would think the TD would be worth more but if the SDL is in as advertised condition then the SDL could be a fair trade.

I still think a wagon in decent shape is worth more than all but the NICEST SDL/SD/CD... they are relatively rare, and a low mileage Turbo model is hard to come by. especially with original 3rd row seats. yes there is some external rust, but none is beyond a body panel, and replacement/repair is easy, and non structural.
you like the 126 crash tests, has she seen the 123 crash tests? the roll over videos? the results of accidents in it?
all the crash videos of the 126 cars are on gassers, so an SD with it's aluminum hood and rear deck lid are not going to be quite as forgiving. the 123 is all steel, and I'm pretty sure the vehicle chassis was designed with maximum safety in mind. I"ve cut these cars completely apart. the structural integrity is AMAZING. the unibody construction is not only spot welded, but the seams are BRAZED together! freaking awesome!
