You might save $10-$20 Dollars (depending on if you can get free shipping) buying a Neiman/Valeo one from some of the Online Sellers but in My case I wanted to make sure I got a genuine Mercedes Ignition Switch as one of the Contacts of that was also burned.

Below is what caused the issue with My Steering Colum Lock.
The A end turns the Ignition Switch being broken off kept the Ignition Switch from Rotating. A combination of the A and B parts being broken kept My Tumbler from turning; but I was lucky it finally freed up and I got the Tumbler out. While My Ignition Switch was still working if you look in the circled area in the last picture you will see that the Contact Point on the outer Arm is nearly gone.

Just recently, I replaced my starter NOT because it wouldnt crank but because it started in the run position. I suspected the solenoid as the plastic part of the solenoid was just being held by epoxy. It happened again with the replacement starter. The starter turned on while the engine was running. Right now when i turn the key to the run position, it would turn on the starter. I was looking at the second photo and maybe that could be the cause of my problem or do i have to replace the entire steering lock kit?

I remember changing just the rotary electric vacuum switch located on the far end. Had to remove the assembly about 2 1/2 hrs I seem to recall not difficult you just need to follow the instructions carefully.
