W123 300TD trailer hitch question
I have a question for those of you with a trailer hitch on your W123 TD station wagons. There is a 'z' shaped brace that connects each side of the hitch's bumper-bolt hanger mount to the frame rail. These help prevent the hitch from over-turning.
I would appreciate it if someone could measure the width and thickness of that brace. A measure or estimate of the total length of one of these braces and the size of the bolt heads would be very helpful too. One brace is shown on the right side of the photo (taken by Mobetta in March 2009) below. It attaches to a frame rail with two bolts and to the bumper bolt hanger by one bolt. Thanks! - Neil

I know that this thread isn't particularly technical but I could use these measurements.
I would also appreciate someone telling me how thick the steel is in the bottom of the rear bumper shock "cave" which lie to either side of the spare tire well. This is where the "z" braces bolt up in the 300 TD wagon. I want to know before I start to drill.

MY TD is in the storage lot at the moment so I can't get the info. That steel wasn't very thick.
