How to Remove/Replace Rear Trailing Arm (?) Bushings
Group,
I did a search and found no definitive answers so will ask here. I want to replace the eight rubber bushings that attach the rear suspension (four points of contact with two bushings each point). Has anyone done this? Will I need to lower the subframe to get at one side of each trailing arm (if thats the right name for it) on each side? Is it only the bolts over the differential that hold the subframe on along with the subframe bushings? I currently have the main drive shaft out of the car so now might be a good time to replace these bushings (already have them). I had some advice that indicated the springs would have to be compressed but just looking at it seems possible that they won't cause problems. The trailing arms are rigid where connected to the wheels. Sorry for any confusion but if you've done this, you will understand my questions.......I think. Thanks Nic '85 300CD |
