highest mileage MB here? (not mpg)
Saw some Swedes running some in the 400k territory. My 603 is still running fine at 345k. Soon to snatch up a spare (for my Landy) that only has 170k.
My personal opinion on high mileage motors is that at least you know they most likely havent sat for years! (Gotta look at the bright side) Which brings me to my original question. Who here is currently driving high mileage MB engines, and how high? Im sure this has been covered many times, but for some reason the search bar drops away whenever i enter text?

Well our 80 240D has 356800K on it. Got it from the original owner with 305960K.

Doktor Bert has 1.3 million (rebuilt at 1.25 million, I believe). layback40 has 800k on a parts car... a member here replaced his engine at 750k (750KMILZ, I believe)... I have 211k on mine.

just went over 315,000 miles on my 1979 240D. Have put over 50,000 miles in less than 3 years. Not bad for the old girl.

I have a customer who has over 550K on his 83 SD... still driving it, but the body is falling off the car... and all the windows are taped up. and he starts it with a screwdriver...
we are actually contemplating swapping his drivetrain into another body I have sitting in my yard...

I am at 288K miles. My biggest problem is the leaky turbo drain pipe. I hope to get many, may more miles on this girl.
I was looking at a 190D for sale a couple days ago. Guys asking $2500 CAN OBO and it has 340K miles. Not sure how many more miles those engines are good for. He had replaced the tranny already.

I see the Volvo commercials with the 3mil mile p1800 i think it was? Kinda impressive these cop cars turned to taxi Crown Vics pushing half a million. Those are all impressive numbers guys! My Toyota 4age 16v was pulled at 292,000 still running perfectly. (20v had 50+ hp though!)
I hope to get another hundred thousand or so outta this engine, and double that on the second motor.(which still wouldnt equal this engine's current mileage!) curiously, when doing the service on this engine, found Mann air filter in airbox, and Actual Mercedes plastic fuel filter! Im telling myself that someone cared enough to use quality filters, and praying they werent factory!
