If I didn't already have so much Rotella already on hand, I'd have to consider switching to synthetic ...... my last Rotella purchase was 2.5 gallons for $4 per jug at AutoZone. They were discontinuing that size jug. I grabbed all 4 jugs at the local store.

The oil deals are out there......sometimes.

$4 for 2.5 gallons of Rotella was even better...

Rotella 15W40 is great oil.

Its worth a try, but IIRC Walmart has it 'special packaged' for them in 5 litre jugs rather than the standard gallon.

Going to try that tonight, three more would keep me for quite awhile.

I made a mega purchase of cheap Chevron Delo 15w40 at Costco about 7 years ago, I am finally down to my last case of 6 gallons. Basically, be prepared to choose the correct oil for your car and you'll be stuck with it for a while.

'Tis true. Found a store that had a few jugs. They said the price was 29.99. I said, "If you would, please scan it to see what comes up." Sure enough, 12.99. I ordered 15 gallons.

If I didn't buy a 5 gallon bucket of Rotella T6 last summer for about the same price per gallon I would be all over this. Too bad the damn DPF on the 642 in the Jeep needs low ash oil...the second it takes a dump a delete pipe and tune are going in so I can use any oil I want

Funny, I bought a case of the Delo 400 from Costco in WA around the same time and didn't think the price was really good, about $60 for 12 qts of Dino oil.

Thanks, that is what is confusing me as I also buy the Mobil 1 5W20 from there.

Yes on the 7.3 Powerstroke and 2005 e320 CDI

No on the 2006 CDI, you need a low ash formula. Mobil 1 ESP 5w40 Formula M is what you need for this car.

EDIT: for some reason, I was thinking 2007. You can use it for the 2006 CDI.

...
If I remember correctly, it was around $50 a case during a short period sale. I don't know, I bought a bunch.
