My most recent windshield saga was solved by Safelite. Took three seals: one MBZ, two URO, and two windshields; not counting the original one with the crack; but it finally worked.
![]() The first attempt, they shattered the glass trying to seat the kit into the body, and cut a corner of the URO seal in doing so. Second attempt, new glass, two shipping days later, two installers this time, MBZ seal, it all popped in, but leaked with the garden hose test. They used some urethane to glue it up and sent me on my way. Less than a week later, its leaking again. Yay lifetime warranty. Third attempt, with a different installer this time, they removed the glass and leaky MBZ seal, stripped the urethane, installed new URO and it was right as rain. ![]() My bottom line, its been about a year with no leaks. I dislike the dried out NOS seals based on this experience, and seemingly aftermarket does just fine...as long as the installer is competent enough to get it done properly. Now my concern is with the AC recently repaired, my latest leak is coming from the evaporator onto the passenger floor. ![]()
