LOL ... I spoke too soon ...

My driver side CV Axle, less than 3 months old, is slinging grease. Made me look this AM after this thread ...

I called A U T O Z O N E and a new one will be waiting for me tomorrow, FREE. Just swap the 2. Now, I need to find a clean container to catch my diff oil... At least I can reach out and touch the vendor and get pretty quick response.

the boots I use are Astoria Flexx boots. 3001

they are very stretchy... so far, nobody has had a failure from my boots or axles. I have had one customer where the boot seeped oil out, likely the axle had some rust on it... I clean and repaint all my axles now.

Sorry about that you know that reminds me of the guy who goes to the bank and wish peers as he make a deposit in hope his car doesn't hear.

Greaser Can you tell me do you have 300sd axel ? If so the part number would very helpful.

I've sent the axels back already today and now have to wait.
Also CVJ sent price back.
Think Vestech is the way to for my budget.

I will take a few photos before and after then do the test as suggested.

Thanks Again

I have a W123 Sedan.

The boot kit is 1263500237

The half axle is (I think) is this grouping:

1263506910; 1163500910; 1163501010; 1163501110; 1163501210; 1163502510; 1163502610; 1163502910; 1163503010; 1263500010; 1263500110; 1263500210; 1263500310; 1263502410; 1263502510; 1263503410

1263506410. Mercedes Benz. AXLE SHAFT. REAR AXLE SHAFT. AXLE SHAFT.

I think they are all the same. The MB OEM is $450-ish per axle. Ouch ...

I have also contacted the CVJ and John.

John thanks for PM and I like your offer I think I will try test run first.

I knew I should have posted here first before I jumped into the crazy world of online shopping.
If I can reboot what kits do you guys recommend?

I have read some pretty bad reports of cheap boots.

You guys are right vestech has a Great Option that I may use just for time sake and that they be done right.

Please let me know what you think.

I am not sure if you mean the Stock Type Reboot Kit which is expensive and you need a Hydraulic Press to take one end apart or the Astoria Flexx Boots or the Dorman Universal Boots.

I cannot comment on the Astoria Flexx Boots excapt to say that they seem to be the ones most People use. I used the Dorman Ones I got on the Internet. Locally one Boot Kit with Clamps and Grease (the grease Packet that comes in the Kit is not enough).
Locally the Dorman Kit is $17 each and you need 2 per Axle.

Both the Atiria Flexx Boots and the Dorman Universal Boots are Stretched over the Cans with and ATF Funne, Cone Tool made for the Job or a Tool Like the Atiria Flexx Gun.

My only experience is on a W123.

Could you tell where the Grease was coming from?

The end next to where the E-brake terminates.
