LCA Lemforder vs. MB parts

Next on my list to do is the rubber in the front.
Have people been happy with Lemforder for these parts?
They are a lot less expensive than the Genuine Mercedes parts.

Thanks,
Jeff

I used Lemforder exclusively when I rebuilt the front end on my W124, they are top quality and all I use.

I also used them to do the rear diff mounts, all done in 2011 or2012 and still holding up great.

Lemforder has a good rep. The Lemforder Motor mounts are actually ther same ones as you would get at the Mercedes Dealer.

The Dealer Motor Mounts are made by Phoenix and Lemforder evidently buys them from Phoenix (the Phoenix logo is on the Lemforder and Mercedes dealer mounts) and boxes them under the Lemforder name.

However, I don't know if the other Lemforder parts are the same as the Dealer Parts.

Thumbs up

THANX ! .

So far I've been buying Mercedes suspension rubber parts from The Classic Center and they emphatically say " Mercedes OEM is NOT Lemforder ! " .

I believe they are an OE supplier to MB for certain items, but even if they weren't an original supplier of something I'd certainly feel safe using their stuff anywhere I could on either of my Benzes.

I recently did the flex disks on my E300 with new LF parts, quality was excellent and matched my original front flex disk almost perfectly (that one was still in good shape, but I figured with 200k it'd be best to change anyway).

When I did the rear end I bought one flex disc from the dealer
and it was lemforder. Later, decided to go ahead and do both and bought
the same exact flex disc made by lemforder from PP--for a lot less money.

I'm just checking to see if people are still happy with lemforder.
Seems like I've read recently that they are starting to outsource?

If the price is close, I'll probably just go ahead and get the "Genuine" MB part.
But, some parts--like the MB upper control arms are $700-$1K each from this site!

Lemforder by ME

I'm about to order up some control arm related rubber. Lemforder rubber all ways seems stouter than other suppliers.

I've read the recent concern comments, but the Lemforders stuff I've purchased i.e. tie rods & lower ball joints fit perfectly, and are (feel) well made.

I'd think you good to go with them. Worse case, reject the part the part out as soon as it arrives. Pretty easy to tell if the part is inferior. I've had extra sets of some front end bits in hand that were the most affordable (LOL), only to chicken out prior to installing, and reordering Lemforders.

Lemforder is great. When I redid the suspension in my 190E Sportline and 190D, I used as many Lemforder parts as possible. Some parts I found I get get them at the wholesale dealer for the same price so I got them there (tie rods). I had to use Corteco in some cases but they seem to be good quality as well.

Everything I have read, Lemforder is the way to go as far as to aftermarket.

I have been slowly accumulating Lemforder parts when I put in orders.
One day we won`t be able to find good quality parts.
Not trying to hord, just need parts to keep my ever increasing fleet in repair.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran into a problem when replacing the lower control arms on a1995 E300D. I replaced the originals with Lemforder. My problem occurred with the passenger side control arm. When I torqued the two bolts that are welded to the control arm for attaching the rubber bushing/ torsion bar bracket, I stripped the bolts. Mercedes specifies 20NM for these two bolts/nuts, but when I approached about 150 in-lbs (about 15 NM) the nuts didn't torque any further. Has anyone encountered this situation?

When you say they didn't torque anymore, is that because they were stripped?

15nm sounds a bit low for that type of fixing to strip, have you calibrated/checked using another wrench?
