AC: use cans via yellow charging hose?

1) Is there a hose that anyone sells that is the yellow charging hose that is in he middle inlet of a typical gauge set which allows you to pierce regular cans?

I want to simplify work and once the gauge set is purged of air to simply hook up a can and let it charge rather than disconnecting the blue low side and having to use a third party charging hose with a gauge...

Does one exist?

2) which way round does the yellow charging hose go? One end is open and the other has a valve or similar...is it just a one way valve? When it goes to my vacuum pump the fitting on it doesn't look like it has anything that would engage the valve on that end...so that's why I ask is there a "correct way" round?

Not sure I am really understanding your question but here goes. When working with small cans I always preferred to use a side tap. It has a fitting that threads to the center hose on the gauge set. Put the can in, then squeeze and lock the handles. It punctures the can on the side through the sheet metal. I always found these less troublesome than top taps. You do have to purge the center hose for each new can though. Google up ac can side tap for some images and product links. Hope this helps.

There are can tappers that have a threaded outlet, and you attached that yellow hose to the can tapper outlet. Once the hose is attached at the can end, leave it loose at the gauge manifold end, and tap the can slowly, allowing some refrigerant to escape from the other end of the yellow hose to purge out the air. Tighten up the yellow hose at the gauge manifold, fully open the can tap, the open the appropriate gauge valve on the manifold to connect the yellow side to the blue side so you charge from the can, via the yellow hose to the manifold through the blue hose.

Ok I guess had not considered an adapter first that then plugs into yellow hose.

Any thoughts on question 2 for which way round the yellow hose goes if it matters?

you can buy a blue hose just like that on ebay, its sold for R22, the other piece you will need is the quick connect to the low side port and can tap/side tap.

I have an adapter that allows regular 1/4 threads of the manifold hose connect to the standard R-134 can tap. it was less than 5 dollars on ebay.

The blue hose I mentioned is about 10 or 12

I guess you are talking about R-134A. But, even the Duracool I use has the same can fittings. CA changed a few years ago to a different R-134A can w/ spring-loaded outlet. They sell cheap adapters to convert the can to the regular R-134A spin-on fitting. The state adds $10/can refundable deposit, but you must return the spent can within ~90 days. I think the idea is to avoid venting the remaining ~30 psig left in a can. R-134A is a potent climate-change gas, so is being outlawed in the U.S. (long ago in Europe & Canada).

Before I got an AC gage set, I rigged up a charging system. I cut a standard yellow R-134A recharge hose in two and added a T in the middle. I start w/ the can screwed on but not pierced. I open a small valve off the T to a vacuum source. I have used gas engine manifold pressure to get down to 20"Hg, then finished w/ a hand Mighty-Mite to 29.5" Hg (~5 min). After out-gassing for hours (and more pumping to rid that vapor), I isolate the vacuum and pierce the can to charge. Since then, I bought the HF vac pump (on sale), so no more hand pumping. I still use the little setup when I need to add just 1 can. That is usually not from a leak, but rather after changing a compressor or such I start w/ 2 cans then add months later if needed.
