722.3xxx Superior Shift Kit / Valve Body rebuilders, I need some help

This is for the new to me 83 300TD.

Rebuilding the valve body using the superior kit.

My valve body is missing a spring that is shown in the FSM and the ATSG manuals. It is a spring behind a side valve plunger. I am very, very sure no springs flew off during disassembly or got lost. It looks like im doing surgery on my workbench - very organized.

Is this a common occurence to have slight differences between FSM/ATSG and what you have in front of you?

i deciphered the manuals and now am missing a ball bearing. grr. im sure none fell out.

emailed marc.

anyone reading have a valve body ball bearing hanging around?
