Are you talking about my wagon in the photos above? If so, they are new, bought less than a month ago from Pelican.

I was asking Nate. He said he had no gap issues. So I was wondering if he installed old Ziegler stuff.

Question for you rollguy, are all the pieces short? Or is just the front doors and quarter panel pieces?

Yes, some more than others. I was able to max out the molding on the front fenders so the gap was less on them, but the rest of the moldings show larger gaps.

Maybe the gap is due to the car being in a big accident and was crunched badly, and was pulled/ stretched a little too much on the frame machine?

I think I have most of those door mouldings in good condition if anyone needs them.

thanks for the gap pics rollguy. attached are how small the gaps are on the pieces that have been on my car, assuming they’re original.
i think i could live w/ the gaps if i was doing all pieces, but changing one piece, i’d rather have it be consistent.

rollguy was your car in an accident? are your pieces not sealing along the tops of them? i ordered one from ebay, hopefully it works out,

https://www.europeanautomotivegroup.com/ a junkyard also seems to have parts, and pics of w123s that have been in accidents.

Actually, the quality of the Ziegler moldings is quite good. They leave no gaps between the rubber and the body. They look factory fresh except for the gaps on the ends.

the only reason mine left a gap was cause it was bent and i tried i couldn't get it straight enough when reusing.

i got the used piece off ebay, it's nice and straight. but it's like, the 1st time i pulled off the bent trim, i was able to get everything super clean.

the 2nd time, for whatever reason, new gunk that would not come off. then the paint chips off around the holes when pulling the red tabs out, tiny ones but still.

then after it’s all clean and ready, i find there’s this chip on the new piece, maybe from me pulling the red tabs off, sigh.

i put it on anyway, there’re no other gaps and the chip is a much smaller gap than my bent piece. i guess it’s fine but you know after all that effort it’d be nice to have a solid piece.
