Poll: 300TD- Sell as-is, or put back together?

I got this TD project with the desire to put it back together, and then sell it. I already have a nice TD, so I don't really need another one. It has a new paint job (VERY NICE I might add), and I think everything to put it back together is inside. I have a folder full of receipts, including an engine and trans rebuild. The paint job was around $3,600. What say you?- Put it together and then sell, or sell it as-is?

More photos: I can see a blue dash (although it is probably "what it is cracked up to be") buried in the parts, carpets, door panels, exterior trim, interior trim, engine parts, spare tire and cover, many other items.

Ooooof. That is a big job.

Plenty of S123 buyers in California if you put it back together.

Looks like a lot of work. How far from being reliable transportation is it if everything is moved out of the driver seat?

You probably won't break even on the car unless it looks / works show room when finished.

Sell as is and let someone have a project.

I've been pretty bored before but never that bored. Sell it as-is.

That's nothing compared to my wagon project. I've put together worse. In my opinion the condition of the body and paint job is the most important part of the car. The mechanicals and interior can be put back together. If a car is rusty or needs a paint job? Forget it.

That is a easy project that you can put back together in a week. Should bring strong money once done. The hard parts are already done, just needs the final finishing, which is the fun part.

That's the thing, the body is rust free and the paint job is first class. If I didn't dislike the color more than my Light Ivory TD, I would sell it and put the blue one back on the road. Don't get me wrong, Blue is my favorite color for a car. I just don't care for Diamond Blue too much. I have heard that next to China Blue, Diamond Blue is a desired color. Just not for me though.

Believe me, BAT would see it before Craigslist if it were finished and derivable.

Put it together, you will regret selling it as is.

We'll see how the poll goes, maybe I will invest a few hours here and there, and at least get the interior back together. The engine and trans are just sitting there with nothing hooked up. They will need to be removed, and have a complete cleaning and detailing before being re-installed.

Every project is a combination of time, money and knowledge. How much time do you have? Would you enjoy that time spent putting it back together? If not then sell now.
