My dad really likes trans x and kept telling my I should try it in my trans that maybe it will stop the leaks. I didn't like the idea of cleaning out a 240k trans but I did it anyway. Well the leaks have slowed down, maybe the trans x did that but maybe just normal use helps the seals. However now I have a nice 2-3 slip! Did trans x cause it? I can't say for sure but I can say it didn't start until I put the trans x in. What I can say for sure is when my trans is rebuilt it will only see Mobil 1 ATF every 30k. I don't like additives in general I think they are mostly snake oil. The only additives that are any good are cetane and anti gel additives like Power Service and diesel clean. These have been proven to reduce smoke and slightly improve mileage.
As for engine flush's my first synthetic oil change came back fine at 3k miles. I think synthetic oil cleans much slower then people think, it is not like a parts cleaner. I bet synthetic takes 10k-20k miles to properly clean out an engine.
