One of the great things about life in the mid atlantic is that we have four distict seasons, unlike many other places that have only one or two. Winter makes you appreciate spring, summer is a trial to prepare you for the coolness of fall. I do not truly like the cold; I have an unheated, too small garage that is unuseable right now. But the days are alredy getting longer; I know the warm breath of spring is soon to follow. Better times are coming!

Re: I can't take it anymore!

Head up man!

It was -1 F here last night and it's OK. We get over 100 in summer and it is OK too. Winter makes you appreciate summer more. Imagine living in the tropics all your life. You wouldn't appreciate that.

The magic of winter is that feeling you get when all is white outside, freezing, frosty wind, while you sit inside your Merc, all comfy and warm, enjoy the hot air and music pouring from the stereo.

I have done nothing but replaced all glow plugs a year and a half ago and bought a new 100 Ah accumulator a year ago. She always starts at first attempt, even at -1.

Enjoying all the frost while driving in a warm comfortable vehicle - give it a try.

I was born and raised in Newark. I came to Miami in 1987 and never went back.

Actually, I did and was so friggin' depressed in a mid January cold spell, that I gained 20 lbs in 3 weeks.

Made a plane reservation the next week and have been a happy man ever since.

I start to shiver when it gets to 40 like yesterday. I can't imagine living in the cold ever again.

Sure the traffic/drivers suck here and you really sweat your ass off in summertime but I wouldn't live anywhere else.

All yall up north can talk about those winters making you appreciate your summers, I would not trade our not having winter for any amount of appreciation. Toblin.....come on down to south Louisiana you will appreciated your oil burner that much more

We have some horrendous summers on a regular basis.... but our winters often are pretty reasonable....
It will be low 70's here today... and it is Sunny and Clear as a bell....
Come on down !

I forgot to rub it in. It's 71-75 right now, not a cloud in the sky and no humidity to speak of.

Actually, this is the time of the year when most vacationers decide to move down here, then summer hits and they wish they hadn't.

You really have to love the heat to move here, which I do.

Like whunter said, it's a free country. Also it's one of the few countries in the world that has all the climates: tropical, sub-tropical, moderate, and polar. You can live anywhere you want! As for me personally, I lived in a tropical climate for 7 years when I was a teenager and got totally fed up with it. Ever since then, winter is my favorite season!

I'll trade you any day!!!! Come on down here for 7 months of heat. 90-100* every day with 100% himidity year around! I have been in Florida 4 years and can't wait to leave!! There is NOTHING to do here! No decent county fairs, No tractor pulls, No harness racing, No woods to hike in unless you want to donate blood to wildlife and bugs, Traffic sucks, Schools suck ect. www.florida-sucks.com :p :p Really i can't wait to move to my property in Northern Wisconsin! Curl up in front of the woodstove on a cold day. Go snowmobiling through pritine woods, Downhill ski, Hunt real deer not great dane sized Florida deer. Remember in the cold you can at least dress warm but in this friggen heat you cannot get cool enough!!! Can't run naked either!!:p :p
