Put about 200 miles on it between last night and today.. runs excellent. Does 85mph without a problem. VERY tight car.. about the best driving w123 I've ever driven. Brakes are a little stiff from a vacuum leak but that will be resolved soon. Clutch seems fine to me, doesn't slip at all and bites very good.. I can chirp the tires sometimes going into 2nd.. I would compare the power to just about a 300D turbo.. I don't feel much difference.

You might want to be a little easy on your clutch as it won't last much longer chirping the tires.

I don't go from stoplight to stoplight chirping the tires

And yes, the clutch will last longer chirping the tires than it would if you rode the clutch and made the shifts super soft. Like an automatic transmission, the softer the shift, the more wear on the clutch(es).

I wasn't really trying to nag you about that. I had a Datsun diesel pick up over 10 years ago that I enjoyed chirping the tries because it was so easy. I ended up replacing the clutch before it had 100K. Maybe chirping the tires may sound OK vs slipping the clutch in but IMO I think chirping would put more stress on the pressure plate springs. Just my 2¢.
I don't want to make this a clutch thread.
Enjoy your new car Turbodiesel.
