It's funny to me that the colors that are being listed as ugly are some of my favorites. I like them because they're different. I am so sick of seeing black, brown, anthracite (grey), and cream (or any other variation of white). I understand that neutral colors are classic and timeless, but to me that means they're boring also.

That's my opinion, and I admit I'm a bit biased since I own a somewhat strange colored MB, but that's also partially why I bought it. I noticed the unusual color and was interested.

And it makes a car even more easier to find in a large parking lot.

Yeah, I like the "ugly" colors listed a few posts back- because they are different, of a specific time in history-

I am SOOOOO sick and tired of brand new cars in silver with that awful light gray interior (have you stopped into a M-B dealer lately? Every car on a M-B dealer lot is the standard issue silver- I know it is the marque's racing color, but enough already-) that I would happily drive a car painted an unlikely shade of green, orange, or what have you.

I owned a 77 123 300D in caledonia green (though when I bought it, I thought it was light beige!) It was sort of lime meets avocado, non-metallic, with an orange/brown bamboo color interior. That car was so cool, as you know it was the height of fashion when it was new...

The nicest color I would want is WHITE

I think a 300D looks best in Pure WHITE.
My next wish is to be able to paint the Car myself, but i have a job, family and all the other stuff and I dont think I could throw that many hours into it to do it correctly.
I dont think my neighbors would be in love with the paint fumes floating down the steet.
Finally I have this remark on the W123 Car's styling. I LOVE IT. In this day of everything looks alike Egg shaped cars where you cant tell a Lexus from a Hyundai, or else TANK sized SUV's, you have to lovethe W123 Body style, its a CLASS ACT.

Maybe you should start a post on the Last Car a W123 driver would want to be seen in.

If it isn't, I'd like to see what color you're talking about.
Hey, nice car! I love the funky colors MB used back in the 70s....The gold/bronze and browns don't do much for me.....but I love the various shades of blue, ivory, that dark "primer" gray that they used to do, and your green car! Great color! Black is always a great choice as well.

I also agree with the post above about silver....I know it's the "signature" MB color and all, but I'm pretty damn sick of seeing it.

I too am entirely SICK of silver, every MB is Silver or black. I dont mind black on w123's because its rare, and naturally looks good.

I do have to say that although there are about 9 billion w123's in the variants of tan, creme, beige, and white, I think they look absolutely stunning when completely detailed- a creme w123 with high gloss paint, BLACK bumper trim and tires, and clean wheels looks quite sharp. Clean and classic.

Now if only my paint was clean and glossy and my tires weren't old and belts-exposed I'd have a "classic" looking car. My trim is deep black and velvety looking however. I suppose it was replaced sometime before I acquired it. I love the cream colored paint that MB used. It's so old-fashioned looking but looks so nice set against chrome, etc.. Have you ever seen some of the cream colored paints other cars have, like some older domestics? Now those are some ugly creams!

Hey these were beautiful colors. The '79 avocado is wrecked
(daughter) and the orange '75 traded (issues.)

Current colors are sahara yellow, white and silver blue.
I don't know a bad color on a Mercedes, they're all
ok in their own way. Like an earlier poster said,
pink. It doesn't work on any car but a Mary Kay.

Whoa!

Amazing.

Reassures my feelings of safety with these cars.

I too lost a W123 to an accident. Midnite Blue. Miss it, but realized it just wasnt the right car and concluded that the accident happened for a reason. Now I have my Orient red one because of it, and its never leaving my hands no matter what.

I love the maple yellow!
For my own personal taste Id throw on some bundts in place of the wheels & covers. Nice ride!

No way! Keep the hubcaps! I love the way they tie the whole look together. You lose that with the bundts. The covers just add so much personality.

IMO
