Had a little boost in 1st and 2nd but nothing else. During the drive all the sudden I had boost in 5th. That didn't last. Car was very nice to drive when the boost was active. But later no boost in any gear. I'd be driving and could feel the engine loose power. I limped it over Raton pass and made it back to pueblo. I've ordered a maf sensor. Plan on doing the egr and maf delete when it starts to warm up. I was relieved to make it home. I was impressed with the handling and braking. Hope to get the maf next week and see if that gets the car out of the limp mode.
I remember when I blocked off the egr valve on my old 85 300sd I could feel a slight difference. Makes no sense to put exhaust into the intake stream. Has anyone done a comparison test after doing the egr delete on the 1999 e300. I'd bet it would be somewhere around 3-5 hp.

That is impressive, that you got over the mountain, that car is a total slug in limp mode!
“Makes no sense to put exhaust into the intake stream.”
That is the sentiment of most around here. Unfortunately the government has decided this is a good idea so therefore it is so.
