Myna pump

Hey so i have a buddy who sent a "M" pump i sold him to finland and they said there are THREE way they can tune it and race being the most costly was what he had done......they said 300hp is what it can handle and if he wants more a bigger turbo is a must....so can someone with a myna pump plz chime in.......he might sell me the modded pump so i need to know what to expect.

145hp.

to get 300hp you'll need about $5,000 worth of parts and many hours of work.

I dont know why anyone would drop that kind of money on a pump if they were only going to get those kind of gains.....also i have to have my buddy get the emails from myna because he is claiming they said with just a bigger turbo they way tuned the pump he could get close to 300hp.

Now i know that green wagon had a super charger also but i want to find out from someone that has talked to myna what the different tune option there are for the pump because he said there are 3 different ones.

didn't talk to them (tried but no answer) but larger elements is the basic mod.
Different levels then can only be different adjustments.
Basically here is the full load adjustment (together with other adjustments that are necessary). Full load adjustment is moving end of injection. With the (not matching the cam profile) wrong 7mm elements the end of injection is too late even with moderate full load adjustment all beyond that makes smoke rather than power out of the added fuel and stresses the cam/roller surface.
The best to adjust the governor is to remain in the range it is designed for, using its full operation range.
If you don't want to spend this money just get the 7mm elements and get them installed somewhere in the US and you are at 90% of a "Myna" pump. Not talking about added ALDA etc. on a 5 cyl. M...

i didnt think a pump would give u that much hp.... just by turning up the full load screw and up the boost to match, wont u be pretty much topped out at abt 145hp?

now with a myna tuned pump; i wouldnt be satisfied paying that kinda money unless i saw gains of at least 50 whp.

They put 7.0 or 6.5mm? elements in. This is on a stock turbo that was never modified, myna pump http://superturbodiesel.com/images/benz/w123%20super%20turbo/brians%20mercedes%20dyno%20myna%20pump.wmv

thats it? 145hp and 209 ft lbs? i was under the impression that u could get those kind of numbers with the stock pump and stock turbo with the full load screw turned up and the rack removed and the turbo at 15psi maybe intercooled as well...

Without touching the turbo those are VERY impressive numbers. One has to assume hes only doing 9psi or so, worn springs and all. Getting that kind of number from a stock setup would be luck without a pump rebuild.

no, 145hp at the crank is what you'll get with that but you'll only see 115hp at the wheels on a dyno thanks to drivetrain losses. his is closer to 175hp at the crank.

he is running 15psi. the injection pump, boost pressure and tranny modulator pressure are supposedly the only mods hes done.

by the smoke from that run hes definitely needing more boost, i'd hate to see his EGTs at the end of the pull!

Where did you get this info, I specifically remember him saying that the turbo was untouched (atleast at the time the dyno was done).

That doesn't really say much. I am not trying be argumentative but I remember specifically that he said that he had not touched the turbo at all.
